Singer/songwriter Jeff Buckley died in Memphis 10 years ago today.
Buckley was in town recording his fourth album. He disappeared after taking a swim in the Wolf River on May 29, 1997. His body was recovered six days later. He was 30-years-old.
Buckley, known for his ethereal songs, achieved only modest commercial success in his lifetime but has continued to be a strong influence for many artists. He’s been the subject of several books and documentary films.
