One more art opening: This evening s is at Otherlands Coffee Bar for paintings by Lewis Feibelman. At St. Mary s Catholic Church Downtown, today s kicks off their two-day Oktoberfest, a celebration of German heritage with German cuisine, a plaster the pastor pie toss, kids games, a Biergarten, and live music by an Oompah band, John Angotti, and the MUS Boys Choir Beg to Differ. At the other end of Downtown, today s Sidewalk Sale on South Main features galleries and shops selling their merchandise in an urban yard sale, with live performances and food. Tonight s Ricky Nelson Rock-a-Billy Hall of Fame Benefit Show at Overton Park Shell features music by Nelson s sons Gunnar & Matthew Nelson. Those wild, young head-bangers Hopes Like the Hindenburg are at the Caravan tonight, along with Symphony in Peril, Hammerfight, and Aden. And tonight s 1st Annual Mpact-a-Go-Go at the Stax Museum of American Soul Music is both a fund-raiser for Mpact Memphis and a night to honor their first Mpact Maker Awards recipients, with food, beverages, and live music by Coffee and Bonnie Bramlet.
