There are two performances tonight (5:30 and 8 p.m.) of this year s 2nd Annual W.O.W. Christmas Concert at Lindenwood Christian Church, a multimedia holiday show featuring Kevin Paige and the W.O.W. Band, along with other Memphis musicians. If you want to give someone an autographed book by a local author for the holidays, there are plenty of them signing books today: Charles Cavallo and John Bailey, Charles Cavallo s World Famous Cupboard Cookbook (Davis-Kidd, noon); Sophie Coors, Sophie the Swan (Davis-Kidd, noon); Ron Hall, Playing for a Piece of the Door: A History of Garage and Frat Bands in Memphis (Davis-Kidd, 2 p.m.); and Robert Gordon, It Came From Memphis (Davis-Kidd, 2 p.m.). Reba Russell is at the Black Diamond tonight. Jungle Room is at Kudzu s. The Binghamton Rhythm Section is at the Blue Monkey. The Billy Gibson Jazz Band is at the Blue Moon. Gran Torino and FreeWorld are at Newby s. And if you want to do something really special, head down to Clarksdale, Mississippi. Have dinner at Madid, the restaurant operated by Morgan Freeman and Bill Luckett, and then head down the street to their juke joint, Ground Zero, for a show by The North Mississippi Allstars, with special guests The Burnside Experience (featuring R.L. Burnside s sons) and Fat Possum recording artist Paul “Wineý Jones.
