Heads up, kids! There’s a brand-new scam coming to a mall parking lot near you. According to Flyer staff writer Janel Davis, who attended a recent meeting of the Citizens Police Academy, Memphis thugs are getting younger,prettier, and more nefarious every day. In recent months a group of girls presumably selling knock-off perfume have been approaching mall patrons asking if they would like to sample their product. Here’s the catch. The perfume bottles are leaded with a chemical that makes the unsuspecting sniffer mighty woozy, allowing the “sales ladies” to snatch purses and get away with ease.
