It’s Thursday. Are you ready? I hope you had a cereal fortified with a BUNCH of stuff, because it’s go time.
Tonight, you get to break in the new music scene behind Midtown Pizza Cafe in the brand-spankin’-new Overton Square. Why? Because it’s the kick-off of Thursday’s Squared, a concert series that proves there is a super volcano of culture-party welling up under the revitalized entertainment district. We’ve already told you that Party Planet is hosting a Shindig-style array of guests. This is a reminder. Be prepared.
Friday’s procedure:
I hope you packed more fortified cereal, or we might have to rob a donut store, because … Jim Dandy. You heard me, Black Oak Arkansas, son. You knew they were back. We’ve been over that. It’s gonna be over to the Newby’s and expect a lesson in wearing fine leathers. There will also be lessons in Southern rock. Looking over the BOA tour schedule, I see they are playing in Amityville. Does Southern Air fly there? Who’s in?

Fortunately, things get started early what with all the Record Store Day Zombie Cult Takeover event at the Cooper-Young Gazebo starting at 2:30. Goner is sponsoring the thing, featuring Mark Stuart, Robby Grant, and (holy freaking moly) Tyler Keith. Dad. Gummit! That’s a hot line up. They’re getting beer too. Beer, weather, rock … GAZEBOS! Also records.
It’s all spilled into Saturday night: You’re like a happy junkyard snowballing down a Himalayan mountain. which way is this entertainment-event-decision-machine gonna go? Rob Thomas is at Bluesville? That’s one potential outcome. How about a little Door No. 2? Go celebrate four years of Jungle Boogie at the Hi-Tone. Finally, Wayne Static’s forging metal like crazy at Minglewood. Picky huh? We have like a trillion other listings over here. Like every poptimist’s hero, Geddy Lee, shrieks, if choose not to decide …
Sunday
Happy Easter, pal.
