Back at the Stax Museum, today kicks off their National Black Music Month series of events with Rock and Roll Remedy. Presented in conjunction with The Med s Elvis Presley Trauma Center, Memphis Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Hilton Memphis, the event is a tribute to African-American rockers Chuck Berry, Little Richard, and Fats Domino, and includes live music and a presentation by former Stax session player David Reding and his band the Memphis All-Stars, as well as concessions and tours of the museum, including the new Beatles exhibit. Kelly Hurt is at Sip* Coffee/Midtown Books/Midtown Artist market tonight with the trio of Chris Parker, Jon Wires, and Renardo Ward. And Di Anne Price & Her Boyfriends are at Huey s Midtown this afternoon, followed tonight by Paul Galaxy & The Galactix.
