In 2005, the Flyer‘s annual Best of Memphis Readers’ Poll was pushed back several weeks because of Hurricane Katrina. It didn’t seem right at the time to celebrate all that’s right with Memphis when so much wrong was going on in New Orleans and coastal Mississippi.
But it’s a new year, and we’re back on track. With this new poll come new categories — “Best Place To Buy a Motorcycle” in the Goods & Services section, “Best Place To Meet Singles” in Arts & Entertainment, and “Best Patio” in Food & Dining, to name a few. Our readers came up with more than 4,000 people, places, and things to vote for — an outstanding collection of opinions, to be sure.
As always, we thank our readers for helping us put together what is the Flyer‘s biggest issue of the year. We thank our advertisers for continuing to support the paper. We also congratulate the winners.
Best of the Best of Memphis (BOM) winners means that those designated as such received more than 50 percent of the total vote. Readers’ Choice means that the vote was too close to call.
