Chris McCoy was watching the cloud forecast until the last minute to try to find the clearest skies. He and his companion made an eclipse-day decision to go to the Atlas Obscura’s Ecliptic Festival in Hot Springs, Arkansas, which Flyer music writer Alex Greene hyped in his eclipse cover story.
