Memphis is “Dreamy and Foreboding”

Canada has a new, so-far-unsigned band, and they call themselves Memphis — for no apparent reason that we can discern.

Prefix magazine has described “I Dreamed We Fell Apart,” their debut album, as “a beautifully crafted snapshot of the warmest feelings that come while you’re discovering the world. Delicate whistles are weaved in with lo-fi electronic beats and dreamy keyboards.”

Memphis’ second album, “A Place in the Wilderness,” is described as “dreamy and foreboding” — much like our city itself, we guess.

If for no other reason, there’s a really cool image of a city that may be what Memphis thinks the city of Memphis looks like. You know, dreamy and foreboding — a “little place in the wilderness.”
