Tuesday, the City Council approved “Thomas Boggs Boulevard,” an honorary
street name change on Madison Avenue from Rembert to Barksdale.
“We have lost a wonderful citizen in Thomas Boggs,” said council member
Barbara Swearengen Ware. “I’m glad this honor is being bestowed on him.
I’m just sorry that he is not here to receive it.”
Boggs, the founder of Huey’s and partner in a number of local
restaurants, passed away in early May.
