Similar to any other morning, Angela McGhee had intentions to help her mother deliver Commercial Appeal newspapers on June 15th, 2013. It was something the two had routinely did together for years.

Unfortunately, on that particular morning around 3:30 a.m., their routine came to an end. While stopped at a red light at Elvis Presley Blvd. and Raines Road, the two were rear-ended by a drunk driver.

McGhee’s mother, Rosetta, was driving. But McGhee was seated in the backseat of the vehicle at the time of the crash. The 42-year-old was reportedly announced deceased at the scene.

According to the Shelby County District Attorney General’s office, 29-year-old Justin Click has been deemed responsible for the crash and indicted on charges of vehicular homicide involving intoxication and recklessness.

Click reportedly had several drinks at Club 152 before the crash occurred. Click told investigators he was headed home when he fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into the McGhees.

Click, who also has a previous DUI case pending, is being held on $1 million bond.
