Atlas Road Crew plays Lafayette’s Music Room this Saturday.

Welcome to the 33rd edition of my Weekend Roundup. This weekend is a little lean on concerts, but it’s one of those quality over quantity type of situations. The River Series is in full swing at the Harbor Town Ampitheater and Lafayette’s has a jam packed weekend scheduled, which shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone.

ZZ Top plays the Botanical Gardens this Saturday.

Welcome to the 29th edition of my Weekend Roundup. You’ve got some choices to make this weekend, either dress up in your favorite greaser outfit and head to the first annual Memphis Rockabilly Festival (You’ll get a discount at the door), or put on your cheap sunglasses for ZZ Top at the Botanical Gardens. Better yet, throw that whole “rock ‘n’roll” thing away and go see Criminal Manne at the Nyte Lyfe bar and grill on Summer Ave. Either way, music fans are sure to have a great time this weekend in Memphis.

Weekend Roundup 19: Memphis Punk Fest, Tori WhoDat, Cedric Burnside

Cedric Burnside plays Lafayette’s Music Room this Sunday.

The third annual Memphis Punk Fest rules my Weekend Roundup this week, with over 40 bands (many of them local) set to play at multiple venues around town. Sprinkled in between the extensive Memphis Punk Fest shows are a lot of acts worth checking out, including Cedric Burnside, Tori Who Dat, and Nights Like These. This weekend marks the start of an insane June music calendar, with shows (that we’ll be previewing) happening almost every night of the week.
