Taking It To The Streets

In the wake of the sordid political corruption trial of Roscoe Dixon, how about some good news? The antidote is Street Ministries new community center on Vance, just south of FedEx Forum. It will open Monday, but was open for tours Saturday morning. The center has two full-length basketball courts and will also have tutoring programs, a computer center, rooms for religious studies, and a large game room. It is aimed at children who live in the public housing projects south of Vance. Memphis Grizzlies player Antonio Burks is a product of Streets Ministries, which is run by Ken and Debbie Bennett. A real Memphis success story, and well worth a visit.
