Memphis City Schools superintendent Dr. Carol Johnson recently announced that she has a corrective plan for the leadership and personnel at Memphis failing schools. While her cursory description of the plan touched on issues of increasing parental involvement and bringing seasoned principals to troubled schools, she did not rule out the possibility of utilizing a spanking machine.
