“The first venue in Memphis to require masking again for events will have my undying respect and devotion; tbqh it’s the right thing to do,” tweeted local singer/songwriter Louise Page recently. “I have worked with venues to make sure all my upcoming shows — including this Saturday at Hernando’s Hide-a-way — are mask-required events.”
Another local heavyweight, Victor Sawyer, noted on Facebook that he “just had my first gig of the Delta period canceled. Brace yourself. More than likely our calendars are about to be devastated all over again.”
The Flow hates to be a downer, so we won’t dwell on what may be harbingers of growing trends in public concert safety. Suffice it to say that, thanks to the ingenuity of the clubs and artists below, an alternative mode of entertainment is in place, and still actively operating. If you are wary of indoor public gatherings, consider the Memphis Flyer your sympathetic friend, and take a tip from The Flow on where the online music is happening. Then give a tip in return to those who make the music happen.
