The League/Facebook
The League is now live here and hoping to unite “ambitious singles” looking for love.
The League is an invite-only dating app “designed for aspiring power couples.” The app went live in Memphis Tuesday after a 503-member “Founding Class” used the app here. Class members were chosen from a waitlist of 3,009, the company said.
“Think of The League as a members-only club, but one with a killer singles scene,” League founder & CEO Amanda Bradford said in a statement. “We’ve built a community where intelligent, ambitious, and high-achieving people can find their equal partner.”
Sound exclusive?
From a company news release:
“Applicants are selected based on various factors including degree, educational institution, current and past professions, title, number of referrals, and number of users inside that fit preferences. Before final admission, all applicants’ photos are reviewed and approved by the League team. While the 500 founding members were handpicked for expedited review, more than 2500 others remain on Memphis’s waitlist. For those who don’t wish to wait, standard membership is offered for a fee.”
So, where did the Founding Class come from? Mostly, the University of Memphis, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Germantown, according to the company.
