Titties don’t kill people, people kill people. But just try and tell that to the United States government. It looks like everybody can be as nasty as they want to be these days EXCEPT for the broadcast media. Just think about it for a second. The Bush administration wants the FCC to increase obscenity fines to $500,000 per offense. By the same token, the administration wants to cap noneconomic damages in tort cases at $250,000. So, if you say “F#%* that S*&%” on the radio, it’s going to cost you a million bucks, but if somebody chops off your legs with a chainsaw, you can only sue the offending leg-chopper for a quarter of a million. It sure is good to know the grownups are in charge and our national priorities are in order.
