Ah, St. Patrick s Day. You shouldn t have much of a problem finding a place to drink. Boscos Squared is serving Cask Conditioned Stout all day, with drawings for customers to tap the casks and free Pt. Patrick s Day commemorative glasses while they last. There are St. Patrick s Day celebrations in Overton Square and on Beale Street. Murphy s is hosting a huge bash with live music by Gallow Glass Pipes, Big Betsy, Amy & The Tramps, The Joint Chiefs, Lynn Cardona, and The Subteens. And, well, you could always go visit the Stax Museum of American Soul Music. As always, I really don t care what you do this week, because I don t even know you, and unless you can see to it that Martha Stewart does a television show from prison (how to bake a lovely cake with a file in it!), I m sure I don t want to meet you. Besides, it s time for me to blow this dump and go look into a rumor I heard about a George W. Bush postage stamp, which isn t working because people keep spitting on the wrong side of it.
