Journeyman PGA pro Woody Austin came from back in the pack to win the Stanford St. Jude tournament in Memphis on Sunday.
Third round leader (and fourth-ranked in the world) Adam Scott had a precipitous collapse on the back nine to finish 7th. But even if he’d played well, it probably wouldn’t have been enough to beat Austin, who shot a near-perfect final round of 62 to win the tournament by five strokes. It was the best final winning round on the tour this year.
