By now everyone has seen the footage of Senator Bill Frist, M.D., the pride of Tennessee, lambasting Richard Clarke for apologizing to the American people for the governmental and personal failures that allowed 9/11 to hap pen. We ve heard Frist suggest that Clarke was a liar on the floor of the Senate, only to turn around and tell the press he was unaware of any contradictions in Clarke s testimony. And we ve heard Frist accuse Clarke of exploiting a national tragedy to sell his book, Against All Enemies. Of course, the good doctor would never, ever, ever do such a thing, now would he? Perhaps Senator Frist should just stick to killing kitties, and leave politics to the experts.
